Egzotyczna... Dipteronia chińska łac. Dipteronia sinensis Drzewo endemiczne pochodzące z Chin, gdzie naturalnie porasta górzyste, wilgotne tereny. Tobardzo rzadko występujący w Polsce gatunek. W naszych warunkach dorasta do około 3 m wysokości.
Najatrakcyjniejszą cechą jego jest owoc, to podwójnie oskrzydlony orzeszek, który za młodu jest czerwony z zielonym środkiem, a dojrzewając zmienia barwę na zieloną. Orzeszki te zebrane są w dość gęste, zwisające wiechy i wyglądają niezwykle dekoracyjnie. Liście duże do 40 cm dł, złożone z 7-15 eliptycznych, ząbkowanych listków, świeżo zielone, jesienią żółte.
Ciekawostka dendrologiczna, cenny nabytek dla kolekcjonerów unikatowych okazów.
Rady ogrodnika: Dwuskrzydlak chiński preferuje gleby żyzne, umiarkowanie wilgotne. Może rosnąć na stanowiskach słonecznych lub półcienistych. Należy go okrywać na zimę za młodu.
