Niezwykła wiśnia... Prunus rufa Himalayan Cherry Pochodzi ze wschodniej części Himalajów. To mrozoodporny, kolekcjonerski, rzadko spotykany u nas gatunek. Niezwykłe u tej wiśni jest to, że pień i gałęzie pokryte są silnie łuszczącą się, czerwonobrązową z kremowymi smugami - dekoracyjną korą.
Liście ząbkowane, lancetowate lub owalne, wydłużone. Kwiaty różowe, ukazują się w maju.
Osiąga około 5 - 8 m wysokości. To doskonała propozycja do ogrodów przydomowych, sadzona pojedynczo zachwyci o każdej porze roku - nawet zimą, za sprawą dekoracyjnej kory. Dobrze komponuje się z innymi roślinami o ozdobnej korze, np. brzozami lub klonem zielonokorym. Polecana do minimalistycznych nasadzeń w ogrodach nowoczesnych i japońskich.
